What’s your story?
I don’t mean that blithely. I mean it literally. What is your story?
God has given it to you for a purpose. And He wants to use it for more than just you.
On that note, here are some things to think about regarding your story:
It’s the hard stuff that makes your story great
All of us want a good story. We just don’t always want what comes with a good story. Think about it, the best stories are when people go through something difficult and emerge triumphant. We don’t go to movies to see people live a predictable life. We go to be inspired. The dark parts of the story make the story what it is.
The way you live your story makes a difference.
Whether you walk through cancer, infertility, singleness, divorce, addiction, loss of income, loss of a job… your choices matter. And it’s especially in the dark seasons that God can use your choices to encourage the church. No one wonders how to live through joy. What we need to see is how to live through difficulty.
Your story can impact other stories.
Recently a couple in our church was struggling with infertility, and desperately wanted to have a baby. They attended a dinner with another couple whose story ended up transforming theirs. You are not the center of your story.
Hard as that may be to swallow, there’s a bigger story going on than you. The good news is, you get to be a part of it. God is weaving your story together with millions of other stories, and He is writing one big story that you get the privilege to be in.
So here’s one thing you can do. Play your part well.
