Advent is here— and in the midst of all the decorating, shopping, card sending, and wistful thinking that randomly hijacks our hearts, I decided to STOP… and mark this season with some short meditations on Isaiah 9:6 about the coming Messiah.

Who is, of course, the reason we do all this decorating, shopping, card sending, and reflecting to begin with.

Last week I kicked off the beginning of the Christmas season on my ten minute podcast by talking about hope
(you can still tune in if you missed it)

But THIS WEEK I am starting a 4 week special Advent series on the phrases that describe the coming Messiah in the same verse. I’m a big believer in staying in a verse and uncovering the wisdom and spiritual nourishment that it has to give us. (Which is a big hint on the new book coming in 2019)

The first description of the coming Messiah in Isaiah 9:6 is “Wonderful counselor”.
So grab a cup of coffee, find a quiet moment, heck maybe even light an advent candle, and tune in. My prayer is that these ten minutes will enrich your soul. Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/2Q6DFiI
