Another bad week in the States. Being white feels like unwanted clothing, and words coming from within this permanent shell seem trite. However I feel compelled to stand with brothers and sisters of all color and race simply to say No to these acts of violence and racism.
.

In the last chapter of my new book I talk about choices that weren’t ours the day we arrived. One of those was the color of our skin.

But with every choice we’ve been handed that wasn’t ours, there are choices we make every day of what to do with them.
And the words that sum up the content of my book are words of responsibility that I leave all people who happen to be born with privilege, opportunity, parents who loved them, or white skin.
Choose well what you do with these things. Others are impacted by how you play your part.
