This week’s ten minute podcast is a deep dive into hope. And boy do we need it- the hardest week so far in this lockdown is supposed to be the most celebrated week in our faith. Not to mention the fact that we are looking at celebrating it with the same people (or no people) that we have been doing everything else with over the last 4 weeks.
Here’s what Easter week looks like so far in the Short household:
I guess there is no place to go but up. And picking apart today’s verse (Romans 8:24), we see that the down is part of the up. That’s what Easter week teaches us. I”m praying the ten minute podcast I prepared for this week will speak to you. Here’s the link: http://bit.ly/2Q6DFiI
Thank you, Laurie. Your podcasts and books have been helping me not only remain sane during this insane time, but to grow spiritually during it.
I saw you when you came to speak in Richmond VA at Third Church and Community West Church. We’d love to see you again!
Thank you Denise!
So glad they have been helpful. And I would love to come back! xo
Hi Laurie. I met you at Mission Springs a few years ago where you were one of our speakers at Family Camp. I bought When Changing Nothing Changes Everything. I read it then and picked it up and read it again before Christmas. I was working out at the gym and a girl I knew briefly asked me what I was reading. I showed her your book and she asked if she cook take a picture of it. I told her it was a great book and my second time reading it. She was going on vacation soon and wanted a good book to read. I told her it is Spiritual. She said that’s ok. While I was finishing my time on the treadmill God told me to give her my book. You know, God kept saying it and I said ok. She was gone 2 weeks on vacation and when I saw her at the gym she said I have your book. I said, did you like it? She said, it was exactly what I needed. My parents both died when they were 60 almost 20 years ago. I was raised Catholic and I gave up on God when they died. This book was what I needed. I ordered one for myself online. Thank you for sharing. Oh, by the way, I was sitting on the beach reading your book when I realized the day you handed me your book was the 20th anniversary of my mom’s death. (Wow). I ( Gini talking now) ordered your book for presents for my friends at Christmas. I love your insights and faith. Thank you. Loved the 40 day one too. Just finished it last week.
Gini!
So encouraged by your note. Thank you for this! I am so grateful the book was used in that way. That was always my hope for it:) Praying you and your family are okay during this time- many blessings to you!!
